Peter Lino Lomoro

Founder & Executive Director – UNCC 

Peter Lino Lomoro is the Founder and Executive Director of UNCC and a dedicated humanitarian leader with more than two decades of experience in refugee advocacy, community protection, and humanitarian service. He holds qualifications in Law, Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, a master’s degree in international law, and a Graduate Diploma in United Nations Core Principles.

 

Peter’s humanitarian vision is deeply rooted in his family history and the resilience of his mother. During the first Sudanese civil war, commonly known as the Anyanya War, Peter’s mother lost her own mother at the age of nine as conflict devastated communities and separated families. Growing up without parental care, she endured severe hardship from an early age.

As an adult, she became a symbol of strength and perseverance. She farmed the land, built and repaired homes, collected and sold firewood, brewed local beverages, and worked in other people’s farms to support her family. Despite poverty and hardship, she remained humble, hardworking, and determined to provide for her children.

 

For more than 28 years, Peter has lived separated from his mother because of conflict and displacement. Her sacrifices and resilience continue to shape his understanding of poverty, dignity, and service.

At the age of nineteen, Peter experienced the loss of his grandmother, further strengthening his conviction that elderly people, widows, and vulnerable families often suffer in silence without adequate support. These experiences inspired his lifelong commitment to protecting older persons and those living on the margins of society.

After resettling in Australia in 2014, Peter co-founded Global Sanctuary with Edward Benjamin. He later stepped away after differences in organisational direction, believing that humanitarian work must remain focused on service, accountability, and the needs of vulnerable communities rather than political interests.

 

Peter subsequently founded the United Nationals Country-less Children (UNCC) alongside a committed board and dedicated volunteers who shared his vision of compassion, dignity, and inclusion. Under his leadership, UNCC has expanded its humanitarian work across Australia, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, and neighbouring regions.

 

Together with his team, Peter has led the collection and shipment of medical equipment, educational materials, mobility aids, and vision care supplies to refugee settlements and vulnerable communities. He continues to contribute his own personal income toward humanitarian activities, believing that leadership begins with sacrifice and service.

 

Peter is a strong advocate for older persons, vulnerable children, people living with disabilities, individuals experiencing mental health challenges, refugees, and victims of circumstance. Advocacy is not simply part of his work—it is his calling.

 

He is known for his firm stance against corruption, discrimination, racism, exploitation, abuse, and any practices that undermine human dignity. He believes that humanitarian organisations must be guided by integrity, accountability, transparency, and compassion.

Today, Peter leads UNCC with a simple but powerful vision: that no elderly person should suffer alone, no child should be left without identity or protection, and no vulnerable family should be forgotten.
