Rhoda Musyimi

Regional Director – UNCC East Africa
Founder, UNCC Kenya Chapter

Rhoda Musyimi is a seasoned humanitarian and development leader with more than 14 years of experience in early childhood education, community-based programming, and refugee advocacy. She brings a wealth of expertise from both the non-profit and education sectors, having worked extensively on projects supporting vulnerable children and families across East Africa.

Rhoda holds a Master’s degree in Governance and Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, equipping her with both academic depth and practical insight into grassroots development, policy engagement, and organisational strategy.

Driven by her early work with stateless and undocumented children—especially those born to refugees in Kenya—Rhoda founded the United Nationals Country-less Children (UNCC) Kenya Chapter. Her vision was clear: to reunite displaced children with biological families, provide access to identity and basic rights, and restore hope for those left behind by systems of neglect.

Today, Rhoda serves as the Regional Director for UNCC East Africa, overseeing humanitarian operations in Kenya, Uganda, and neighbouring regions. Her work spans:

  • Child protection and tracing support for stateless and abandoned children

  • Education access for refugee youth and child mothers

  • Senior welfare programs for widows and war-affected elders

  • Self-repatriation planning for refugees facing hardship and insecurity

Rhoda continues to advocate for dignified return and resettlement for families suffering in under-resourced refugee settlements, believing that "home is healing—if safety can be secured."

A passionate believer in community-led solutions, she remains committed to advancing UNCC’s mission of compassion, identity, and inclusion for all those affected by displacement and generational trauma.

“Every child deserves a name. Every elder deserves dignity. Every family deserves to be seen.”
— Rhoda Musyimi

Kevin Nabbowa

Country Director – UNCC Uganda
Humanitarian Strategist | Community Advocate | Women of Integrity

Kevin Nabbowa is an accomplished humanitarian and public relations professional with over 13 years of experience in both humanitarian response and community development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and a Master’s degree in Public Relations, blending operational expertise with a deep commitment to advocacy and people-centered impact.

As the Country Director for UNCC–Uganda, Kevin oversees the implementation of the organisation’s four core programs:
✔ Health
✔ Education
✔ Livelihoods
✔ Emergency Response

Her leadership has shaped UNCC–Uganda into a vibrant, locally driven and volunteer-powered program that supports seniors, war widows, orphaned children, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable refugees across multiple districts in Uganda.

Motivated by her own life journey as an orphan and survivor of child abuse, Kevin has become a powerful voice for the voiceless. She launched the UNCC War Widows Project, offering emotional, social, and practical support to senior women who lost their partners in conflict. She believes that healing begins when dignity is restored.

In 2024, Kevin pioneered a community fundraising model in Uganda that mobilizes local volunteers to raise funds directly from markets, public spaces, and city streets. This innovative approach empowers communities to take ownership of the care and support of their most vulnerable members, reducing reliance on external donors.

Kevin brings to UNCC not just academic excellence and field experience—but a lived understanding of resilience, empathy, and integrity. Her ability to engage stakeholders, inspire volunteers, and design grassroots solutions makes her an invaluable leader at the heart of UNCC’s mission in East Africa.

“We rise by lifting others—and we lead by serving.”
— Kevin Nabbowa

He holds degrees in Law, Business Administration, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management, as well as a Master’s in International Law and a Graduate Diploma in UN Core Principles.
