UNCC Emergency and Recovery Response Statement
The United Nationals Countryless Children (UNCC) recognizes that emergency response does not end when the first responders leave. While frontline emergency agencies provide immediate life-saving interventions during crises, many vulnerable individuals and communities remain at risk during the recovery period.
UNCC often responds when the initial emergency phase has passed and humanitarian attention begins to decline. We work with communities that continue to experience the effects of displacement, poverty, trauma, neglect, and social exclusion after the immediate crisis has ended.
Our role is to support recovery, restore dignity, and ensure that no individual or community is left behind during the transition from emergency relief to long-term recovery and development.
UNCC focuses on:
-
Supporting vulnerable seniors, children, women, and persons with disabilities.
-
Providing psychosocial support and community healing.
-
Restoring social connections and community resilience.
-
Facilitating access to health, education, and protection services.
-
Advocating for neglected and marginalized groups.
-
Strengthening community-led recovery initiatives.
-
Supporting the transition from humanitarian assistance to sustainable development.
We believe that recovery is not simply rebuilding infrastructure; it is restoring hope, dignity, and opportunities for people whose lives have been disrupted by crisis.
UNCC stands alongside communities long after the emergency has faded from public attention, ensuring that vulnerable people are not left without support, protection, or a pathway toward long-term recovery and resilience.
Our commitment is simple: When the emergency response ends, our work begins.
