Livelihood
With real opportunities to earn a living, families can meet daily needs with dignity, keep their children in school, and plan for a safer future. That’s why UNCC works side-by-side with refugee and host-community households to start and grow small, practical businesses that strengthen families, serve the community, and protect the environment.
Our livelihoods approach focuses on what people already know, what local markets need, and what can last beyond emergency support. Through skills training, start-up kits, savings groups, and mentorship, UNCC supports initiatives such as small-scale farming, poultry and goat rearing, tailoring, soap-making, food vending, repair services, and other micro-enterprises led by women, youth, older persons, and persons with disabilities.
We prioritize inclusive, climate-smart livelihood solutions—helping families increase income while reducing harm to land and natural resources. By building stable livelihoods, UNCC enables households to move from dependency to self-reliance, improve nutrition, restore hope, and contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing and resilience of the settlement and surrounding communities.
