UNCC – Privacy Policy

United Nationals Community Care (UNCC) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy applies to all personal data collected via our operations, including web, donations, client services, job applications, and international humanitarian activities. It excludes information about our employees, which is managed separately.

1. What We Collect & Why

  • Purpose: Enhance user experience, site performance, and support communications.

b. Online Donations

  • Data: Name, address, email, billing information.

  • Purpose: Process donations, issue receipts, uphold donor communication preferences.

c. Clients & Program Participants

  • Data: Personal, health, and specific support needs.

  • Purpose: Provide tailored support (e.g., health, education, livelihoods), manage casework, and evaluate outcomes.

d. Job Applicants

  • Data: CVs, referees, work history, qualifications.

  • Purpose: Assess suitability and ensure fair recruitment.

2. How We Collect

  • Directly: Through website forms, donations portal, intake clinics, or job applications.

  • Third-party: With consent, for tasks like travel bookings made by trusted partners.

  • Analytics: Via cookies and tracking tools (with option to disable in browser).

3. Sensitive Information

We only collect sensitive data (e.g., health) with explicit consent, and only when necessary and lawful for service delivery or compliance.

4. Use & Disclosure

We use data to deliver services, communicate, process applications/donations, and conduct operations. Personal information may be shared with:

  • Registered service providers (e.g., health providers, travel or logistics partners)

  • Regulatory authorities when required by law

  • Third-party vendors assisting with administration, IT, analytics, or research—domestically or overseas

We will not share personal data without your consent, except as legally required or to safeguard health and safety.

5. Security & Retention

  • Security: Measures include restricted access, SSL encryption, audits, and secure storage.

  • Retention: We retain donation and program data for up to 7 years after the last activity; recruitment files up to 2 years unless retention is justified. Records are securely destroyed when no longer needed.

6. Access & Correction

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information

  • Require correction of inaccuracies
