Ending Homelessness - One Person, One Family at a Time
Homelessness is rising at an alarming rate globally and right here in Brisbane.
With a severe shortage of social housing, soaring rents and mortgages, and the escalating cost of living, many individuals and families are finding themselves without a safe place to call home or struggling to remain housed.
At UNCC, we understand these challenges and we’re here to help.
Our team connects people with practical assistance, emergency relief, and pathways to long-term, sustainable housing solutions tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances.
Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our services are completely free.
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
Help starts at our Mothers Home.
Committed to Ending Homelessness in Brisbane
UNCC is dedicated to ending homelessness in Brisbane through systemic change and by helping one person, one family at a time.
Homelessness is solvable. People don’t choose to become homeless it often happens when economic hardship collides with personal adversity, such as illness, injury, trauma, violence, or the breakdown of relationships.
No one should walk this path alone. Together, we can create a future where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.
Our Housing First approach prioritizes access to permanent, safe housing, coupled with the support services people need to stabilize their lives. This approach not only addresses immediate needs but also works to prevent homelessness before it occurs.
Evidence shows that providing stable housing restores hope, dignity, and empowerment, enabling people to break free from the cycle of homelessness and rebuild their futures.
Partnerships and Programs (you can get assistance)
Community Programs and Activities to End Homelessness
At UNCC, we work collaboratively with community partners and local organizations to deliver programs and initiatives designed to prevent, reduce, and end homelessness across Brisbane. Our efforts focus on building strong community networks, providing direct support, and promoting sustainable housing solutions.
Brisbane Zero
UNCC supports the Brisbane Zero Campaign, which adopts the international “Built for Zero know by name” approach. This model focuses on identifying each individual experiencing homelessness and connecting them with tailored support to achieve stable housing and long-term wellbeing.
Brisbane Emergency Response Outreach Service (BEROS)
In collaboration with community partners, we assist in providing after-hours outreach, safe transport, and crisis accommodation for young people aged 12–18 who are in the care of Child Safety and have self-placed. This initiative ensures immediate safety and helps young people reconnect with care and stability.
Brisbane Alliance to End Homelessness (BAEH)
UNCC is proud to align with the Brisbane Alliance to End Homelessness, a collective of over 30 organizations and government agencies committed to ending homelessness in our city. Through coordinated campaigns such as “500 Lives, 500 Homes”, hundreds of Brisbane households have been successfully housed, proving that homelessness is solvable through collaboration and compassion.
Supportive Housing
We partner with community housing providers to deliver Supportive Housing initiatives integrating secure accommodation with essential services such as healthcare, counselling, and community connection to ensure sustainable, long-term outcomes for residents.
